At 3 years old, I experienced complete hair loss on my entire body. About 2% of the world is diagnosed with the autoimmune condition Alopecia. Part of the stress may have been that our parents were divorcing and our mom had just started working. I am currently researching PBB exposure and how it could be related to a 1973 PBB incident in Michigan, will update when results are in! 

1973 Alopecia Universalis

By 5 years old, my hair had grown back. My mom had remarried, and we moved as a family to Lansing, MI. At 12 years old, we moved again to Ann Arbor, MI.

In between those years, my mom divorced my first stepdad, and two years later married my stepdad Mike, who was with us until his passing in September of 2024.

1975 Alopecia Universalis Reversed

At 14 years old, I was diagnosed with Mono, which was the start of the Epstein-Barr strain I carry. This later led to thyroid issues, including Hashimoto’s at 18, and for some people can contribute to neurological challenges like MS and Lupus. (95% of the world has EBV.)

Mono, Mumps and Measles

At 16 years old, it started again with two small quarter-sized spots on my head. Thankfully, those spots healed quickly and the hair regrew with the help of cortisone shots.

Alopecia Returns

At 19 years old, I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition. Around the same time, in 1988, I went on birth control (hormones) and started college, which added another layer of stress.

Hashimoto’s

At 24 years old, after moving to Arizona, I caught a strain of the flu and became very sick, dropping down to 100 lbs. I was blessed to have a young gastroenterologist who told me his goal was to get me off medications and healthy. Eventually, my mom came to Arizona and brought me back home to Michigan.

Crohn’s Disease

I healed due to doctors that gave me the BELIEF I could get healthy again. Today, I know that most gut conditions are a result of our gut microbiome being out of balance. It is easy to get a check of your gut, you collect your poop (I know that sounds gross) but it gives you ALL the data you need to know what's in your gut! You get to know the root cause yourself, instead of running a million other tests. Our gut is our 2nd brain, learn what's in it as this gives you the data you need to know how to heal. In 1998, Shingles popped up for a minute on my arm, looking back now with all I know, this could have been the result of stress of my Saturn return!  🤣🤣

Life was good, and my health was steady for the most part. I ended up needing 5 tooth implants where I previously had mercury fillings. During this time, I lost jobs and started new ones, met my husband, bought our first house, welcomed our fur babies, and also experienced the loss of my grandparents and my biological father.

20 Years of Health

It started in December and by end of January 2020 (before Covid hit) my hubby helped me shave my head as it was simpler at that point, as most of it had fallen out. I lost all my body hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. I started wearing glasses so my eyes were protected. It was a good lesson in ego. What I learned is that hair is all about perception. I feel blessed to only be challenged with Alopecia as part of my continuing health journey as it IS ONLY HAIR. Other than that I am healthy…AND…in getting healthy.. in mind, body and spirit, everything is healing, including my heart. It's about setting boundaries, and putting myself first. We have to put on our oxygen mask before we can truly help others. I have done the work, on the inside and out, now I am ready to help others.

Alopecia Universalis... Again

I started following the Medical Medium (Anthony William) health protocol, including detoxing with lemon water, celery juice, heavy metal detoxes, clean eating, and more.

It was later in 2021 when my eyelashes and eyebrows started growing again. (Yay for all the facial hair, nose hair, etc..) You look more normal once you have these basic things covered. The hair on my head was slowly growing, and is continuing to grow, and I have faith and BELIEF that by 2026 I will not wear buffs or wigs as I will have my own hair again. 

The Start of Something Special

I had started seeing a Holistic MD, Dr. Hughes, at her Holistic Wellness Center back in November of 2022. I was gathering all the data on my blood work, gut microbiome tests, allergy testing with blood work as well. I also started going to a Chiropractor who also offered Nutrition Response Testing® and Craniosacral Therapy, my doctor was Dr. Sarah Wilkenson at Holistic Healing Hands. 

These 2 amazing Doctors, have changed my life, and showed me that we can heal our bodies with the help of talented people. Plus my fur babies see Dr. Sarah as well for both Nutrition Response Testing® and Chiro, see more on the importance of pet health, on my resources page. 

I Dived Deeply Into My Personal Health

By June, I realized that my hair was growing to the point that by the end of the year no more wigs!! My body is in complete flow for nutrition response testing with all systems working almost perfectly. I'm within 10lbs of my ideal weight, my mental health and clarity is amazing when I stay away from gluten and white sugar, including alcohol. I've had a few acupuncture sessions to relieve back pain, but that was not chiro related. And the emotions of feeling stuck,  finally feel released.

We are manifesting "no more wigs!" by the end of the year.

Hair Is Growing & Feeling Good!

At my latest appointment in September I was 90% free of the metal toxins. Plus, I had acupuncture for a burning pain along my lower left leg. Since it followed the stomach meridian, it revealed my body was signaling a stomach imbalance—pointing to heavy metals.

I had been skipping my infrared sauna sessions since May (usually I detox 3-4 times a week). This was a gentle reminder to get back on track and get my body as free of toxins as I can with what I have to work with daily, as well as probiotics with a binder to pull the metals out too.  

Our Health Journey's are all unique, but one thing that is true for everyone, is that our health is a constant work in progress, Stop worrying about the future as we have no real control, and be present with your surroundings, out in nature, appreciating the day to day and making sure you have self care routines when you feel your vibration falling.
